Bob’s Skeet Dominates Au Revoir and 2006 Season at GGP

Since its opening in 1992, Stokes – LaRosa Kennel’s Bob’s Skeet, put on one of the finest single-season shows ever at Gulf Greyhound Park. His dominating performance in stakes and feature races, along with numerous sub-30 second clockings over the 550-yard course, should make his 2006 performance one of the best in history. Only Gable Oscar’s excellent season in 2001 can compare with Bob’s Skeet’s work in 2006. Skeet capped off the wonderful season by winning the last race of the year, New Year’s Eve’s 13th race Au Revoir Feature.

In the Au Revoir Feature, most people thought it was over when the postpositions were drawn. Before the Au Revoir, Skeet had previously drawn five one-holes in 2006, and he happened to be undefeated from the rail position, so the prospects looked excellent for taking his sixth win in six tries in the red blanket.

The red brindle three-year old male out of Gable Dodge and Bob's Fraschilla broke well and rushed hard to the first turn, finding himself in a great position behind only San Tan T Mac. As they approached the tote board, Bob’s Skeet edged past T Mac and extended from there, winning the race by six-lengths and clocking a very quick 29.84, his eighth sub-thirty time of the season.

The following is a run-down of the rest of the field in the 2006 Au Revoir: 2nd – San Tan T Mac, 3rd – Bob’s Laural, 4th – SP’s Cold Turkey, 5th – San Tan Jackpot, 6th – Struttin Cowboy, 7th – Mulberry Hummer, & 8th – Tipp Kurt.

Along with the Au Revoir crown, Bob’s Skeet’s accomplishments are many in 2006, and at only three-years of age, he could bring down the house in 2007. His 2006 accomplishments are listed below:
