| Q1 - I can log in, but I cannot see any video! |
| A1 - First, make sure you have clicked on the 'streaming video' link after you log on. Then, make sure you have Windows Media Player 10. download Windows Media Player 10. Also, there will only be video offered while we are racing live. Please check our schedule for race times. |
| Q2 - Why is the video blurry? |
| A2 - Due to bandwith restrictions, the video is streamed at 100Kbps, and 112Kbps with audio and overhead included. This is a 320x240 resolution and blurs because of the fast movement of the dogs. |
| Q3 - I can log in, why can I not receive video? |
| A3 - If you are using a Firewall, make sure port 1755 (TCP, UDP) and 5005 UDP are open. |
| Q4 - What operating systems are supported? |
| A4 - Windows Media Player 9 supports Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP and MacOS X. |
| Q5 - My Sign-Up was successful, why didn't I receive the Activation Email? |
| A5 - Please click on the following link: Resend Activation Email. |
| Q6 - Can I use a fake email address? |
| A6 - If you don't use a valid Email Address, your information will be discarded; so please double check your information before clicking on "Sign-Up". |
| Q7 - I click on the stream video link, but there is no video! |
| A7 - There should be a seperate window that pops up to show the video, or it will say there is no live racing at the moment. If you do not get this window, you may have a pop-up blocker enabled that is blocking the window. Please disable your pop-up blocker and try again. Also, the window is opened with javascript, so javascript must be enabled in the browser. |
| Q8 - Forgot your password? |
| A8 - Please click on the following link: Resend Password. |
| Q9 - I have a modem, can I still stream video? |
| A9 - Yes, the stream will work over a modem, however, there is a good chance the video will be very jumpy. |
| Q10 - I can see the video, but here no sound. |
| A10 - There is very little sound being broadcast, it is usually just during the races. Make sure you have your volume up enough on your computer to here the announcer. |
| Q11 - I signed up, but I cannot sign in! |
| A11 - Your entry may have been removed from our database if you signed up for over 7 days ago without activating your account. You need to sign-up again. |
| Q12 - The video window closed on its own! |
| A12 - The video window will close on its own if it is not active for over 60 seconds. |
| Q13 - I haven't received my activation email! |
| A13 - Make sure you have any spam filters set to allow webmaster@gulfgreyhound.com to send emails to you. |
| Q14 - How do I configure my hotmail account to receive emails coming from webmaster@gulfgreyhound.com? |
| A14 - Please follow these steps: 1- click on "Mail Options" 2- click on "Junk E-Mail Protection" 3- click on "Safe List" 4- in the "Type an address or domain", type "webmaster@gulfgreyhound.com", and then click on "Add". |
| Q15 - Does stream video work in Netscape? |
| A15 - Currently, Stream Video works in Internet Explorer only. |
| Q16 - I have signed up long time ago, but I cannot sign in anymore! |
| A16 - All accounts which have been inactive for over 6 months have been removed from our database. If you decided to reactivate your account, you need to send a message to webmaster@gulfgreyhound.com from the email you used when you first signed up. |
| Q17 - How do I configure my pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from gulfgreyhound.com |
| A17 - Please follow these steps: 1- open Microsoft Internet Explorer 2- click on Tools, and then choose "Internet Options" 3- click on the "Privacy" tab 4- click on "Settings" which can be found in the "Pop-up Blocker" section 5- type "www.gulfgreyhound.com" in the "Address of Web site to allow", and then click on "Add" 6- now close everything, reopen "Microsoft Internet Explorer", and everything should work fine. |
